MEAN WELL 4" x 2" PCB type power supplies, including the EPP-150/200 and RPS-200 series, have been on the market for approximately 10 years, accumulating sales of several million units. They have been highly sought after and recognized in the market. However, with the trend towards miniaturization and high density in terminal equipment, there is a growing demand for thinner dimensions, higher power, and a wider operating temperature range in built-in PCB type power supplies. To meet these market demands, MEAN WELL is once again introducing a new generation of slim PCB type power supply units with even better cost performance – the LOP series. The first wave to be launched is the LOP-200/300 series, featuring 4" x 2" sizes with 200W/300W power. Following closely, the LOP-400/500/600 series with 5" x 3" sizes and power ratings of 400W/500W/600W will be introduced soon. Stay tuned for more exciting developments!

The main differences between LOP-200/300 and the EPP-150/200, RPS-200 models currently available for sale are detailed in the table below. These variances include a thinner profile (1" height), a more comprehensive voltage range of 12-54V, an increased power output up to 300W within a 4" x 2" size, a 150% @3 secs. load capacity, a wider operating temperature range of -40 to +80°C, compliance with OVCIII, and simultaneous adherence to various safety standards such as 62368-1/60601-1/61558-1/60335-1. These certifications make it suitable for a broader range of applications, including telecommunications equipment, medical devices, factory automation, household devices, and more.
