MEAN WELL, a global leader in standard power supply solutions, has officially commenced construction of its new European headquarters in Hoofddorp, the Netherlands. The project represents a significant long-term investment in the company’s European operations and reinforces its commitment to strengthening regional capabilities, expanding customer support, and supporting sustainable growth across the region.
The new facility is designed to serve as a strategic hub for MEAN WELL’s European operations, enhancing local responsiveness, technical support, and collaboration with customers and partners. In line with the company’s sustainability strategy, the building is planned to meet high environmental standards and will pursue LEED certification, reflecting MEAN WELL’s ongoing commitment to energy efficiency and responsible development.

The groundbreaking ceremony was held in conjunction with MEAN WELL’s three-day European Distributor Seminar and brought together approximately 150 guests, including distributors, customers, government representatives, project partners, and members of the MEAN WELL organization. Distinguished attendees included Jerry Lin, Founder of MEAN WELL; Ted Cheng, Chairman of MEAN WELL and CEO of Overseas Markets; Coleman Liu, General Manager of MEAN WELL Europe; Marianne Schuurmans, Mayor of Haarlemmermeer; and Chung-Kwang Tien, Representative of the Taipei Representative Office in the Netherlands.
Following completion, the new headquarters is expected to become a core strategic base for MEAN WELL in Europe, enabling closer engagement with key customers, faster regional decision-making, and enhanced support for the company’s growing industrial, infrastructure, and energy transition-related applications. The investment underscores MEAN WELL’s long-term confidence in the European market and positions the Netherlands as an important hub in its global operational footprint, as the company continues to expand its role in enabling energy-efficient and sustainable power solutions worldwide.
